Daryl Crouse's Bar Success Study Pledge

-Nobody passes the bar exam alone.

First, I want to thank everyone who encouraged me and supported me through the first time around. The California bar is probably the toughest bar exam in the country. Admittedly, I need to do better the second time. A passing score is 1440, I scored 1302. Close, but not quite good enough this time.

People who pass the bar say their families helped them focus not just by encouraging them but by letting them study in peace.

One successful bar candidate sent her husband home to his mother for two months so she could study for the New York bar exam. Another candidate sent his two-year-old son back to his home country.

But with support from family and friends, I can sail confidently through the July bar exam.
Do I know what I need to improve? Yes.

Do I have the resources to get me there? With your help, yes.

This is where I am asking for your help.

For every $10 you pledge, I will study 1 hour. If you pledge $50, 5 hours of studying will be done in your name.

How do I know that you are really studying?

You will receive a copy of my study log showing the date, start and end time of studying and a summary of the points of law studied.

So, if I pledge this money will you guarantee a passing score this time?

One of the first things we learn in professional responsibility is to be candid with a potential client. I cannot guarantee a passing score any more than anyone can guarantee a court will rule in their favor. I can assure you that I will follow through on my study plan. I can assure you that I will do my best.

Yes, I'm going to study anyway, but this is the helping out part.
